The Royal Bahrain Naval Force has awarded a contract to Selex to upgrade six naval vessels, the company announced on 8 September.

Under the contract, which is valued at $55.9 million, the company will complete the upgrades within five years. It will also provide logistics and training services. The systems to be updated have not been specified.

The contract follows other recent award wins in the Gulf region for Selex, including contracts with the Bahrain Civil Aviation (BCA) organisation and the Bahrain Air Force (BAF) to provide primary and secondary surveillance radar systems.
