IMDEX 2019: DSIT pinging new sonar solutions

DSIT Solutions is unveiling its new multi-layered defence solution for strategic assets at IMDEX 2019 in Singapore, designed for use against various types of underwater threats in diverse ranges and sea depths.

At the event, DSIT is presenting its combined and integrative proven capabilities and systems like the Shield Sonar Family and a land-based Mission Control Station (MCS), demonstrating comprehensive defence solutions for militaries, HLS agencies and law-enforcement forces.

The threats intended to be countered by these solutions include divers, semi-submersible vehicles (SSVs), autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and all types of submarine.

DSIT products can be used to achieve a multi-layered defence solution by integrating systems into one incorporated solution, this can be seen in the the Shield family of sonars, such as the SeaShield ASW sonar and the AquaShield Diver Detection Sonar (DDS). They cover immediate, close-ranged threats, and are both stationary sonar systems which are managed by a land-based mission control system utilising advanced signal processing and displays, machine learning techniques for automation algorithms, and the reduction of operator’s workload and required expertise.

Also, on display at IMDEX 2019 is DSIT’s full tactical submarine mission sonar simulation and training system, as well as DSIT’s Portable Acoustic Range (PAR) system which is used for accurately measuring the radiated noise of ships and submarines while maintaining the vessels’ low noise signature.
