Boeing has received a contract modification from the US Navy for P-8A related equipment.

The $40 million modification covers ancillary equipment for P-8A maritime patrol aircraft and P-8A trainers.

The work will run through to November 2022.

Boeing is the programme prime for the P-8 Poseidon aircraft used by the US Navy, Royal Australian Air Force and Indian Navy, and on order for several other nations.

Designed for long-range anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare and ISR missions, the aircraft is capable of broad-area maritime and littoral operations. It is also effective at humanitarian and search and rescue missions.
