The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded a £90 million contract to AgustaWestland to integrate the Future Anti-Surface Guided Weapon (FASGW) onto the Royal Navy’s fleet of AW159 Wildcat helicopters.

The contract, announced during the Farnborough International Airshow, will see AgustaWestland undertake the integration, testing and installation of the FASGW heavy and light missile systems on to 28 Wildcats out of its UK facility in Yeovil.

FASGW is set to replace the navy’s Sea Skua missile system when it reaches its end of life in 2016, and will also succeed the AS 15TT system in French Navy service.
