Eurosatory 2018: New sensor suite for NH90 special operations
Shephard understands that a total ten NH90 aircraft will be outfitted with a new sensor suite for French Special Forces operations.
A nose cone for the NH90 was displayed at Eurosatory 2018 with the enhanced sensor suite that should fulfil requirements for the French Army’s 4th Special Forces Helicopter Regiment.
The new capabilities for the NH90 include the Eurofl’Eye, EuroFlir 410NG both from Safran and the Topowl helmet from Thales.
The new sensor suite will enhance the helicopter’s capability to carry out infiltration missions which include low-altitude flight in dangerous conditions and landing in hostile environments. Missions carried out in
