GE to build engines for F-15EX
General Electric (GE) is to provide an undisclosed number of of F110-GE-129 engines to power USAF F-15EX fighter aircraft, under a $101.3 million contract from the DoD.
GE will carry out work at its Cincinnati facility, for completion by 30 November 2022.
The USAF is procuring a total of 144 F-15EXs, including aircraft for the Air National Guard. The F-15EX will replace in-service F-15C/Ds.
The FY2021 budget provides funding for 12 F-15EX aircraft and associated support equipment, training system upgrades and materials, depot stand-up planning, initial spares, and other related items to manufacture the aircraft, provide operational conversion (from F-15C/D to F-15EX) support, and meet logistics and sustainment requirements.
