US Army brigade modernization to expand UAS participation

US Army planners are projecting a significant expansion of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) capabilities in the upcoming testing of Brigade Combat Team Modernisation capabilities packages.

One significant milestone in this testing will involve Limited User Test 2010 (LUT ’10), which will be held at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, in September.

Some indication of the expanded UAS activity emerged during a recent discussion with Major General Keith Walker, director of the US Army's Future Force Integration Directorate (FFID), Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC), located at Fort Bliss, Texas.
