Ukraine buys Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UAVs
Ukraine has placed an order for Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 Male class UAV systems. This was revealed by the country’s president Petro Poroshenko on 12 January.
He hinted that this deal has been a direct result from the agreement he received from his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Turkish-made UAVs, according to Poroshenko, could also be armed with modern precision-guided missiles for destroying armoured targets in addition to engineering and fortification facilities, and also against sea targets.
