SAIC Presents UAV Communications, Inc. 2008 Small Business of the Year Award
Science Applications International Corporation announced that it has presented UAV Communications, Inc. (UAV) SAIC's 2008 Small Business of the Year Award. Tony Moraco, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, and Stu Shea, president of SAIC's Intelligence, Security and Technology Group, presented the award at a reception yesterday in McLean, Va.
"SAIC and UAV have worked together for more than four years, combining strengths to better serve our Department of Defense customers," said Moraco. "UAV has teamed with SAIC on several opportunities, including SAIC contracts with the U.S. Air Force, providing technical solutions and tools to help increase operational effectiveness."
SAIC has recognized small businesses for their efforts in enhancing contract performance, improving customer satisfaction, and assisting in obtaining new business since 1998.
"We are pleased to work with a small business of UAV's capability and character on efforts vital to national security," said Shea.
Robert Fitzgerald, president of UAV accepted the award on behalf of UAV.
"This is indeed an honor for us, particularly knowing the large number of small businesses that work with SAIC," he said. "We sincerely appreciate the recognition of our achievements and look forward to continuing and expanding our mutually successful relationship."
