What's next for the Pentagon after the Replicator programme?
Although the Replicator initiative has made several accomplishments, there are still multiple gaps to plug across the US Department of Defense (DoD) and its services.
RT LTA Systems has delivered the first Crow1 aerostat system to an undisclosed European customer, the company announced on 8 January.
Crow1 is the civil model of the SkyStar 180 aerostat. The system will be used by the customer for security missions.
Crow1 is a small, mobile aerostat designed for security, critical infrastructure protection, public safety, VIP protection and crowd control. The system provides persistent surveillance and communication over long periods.
Rami Shmueli, CEO, RT LTA Systems, said: ‘We are honoured to provide the first CROW1, our advanced civil model of the SkyStar 180 aerostat, to a customer in Europe, as we see great potential in the European market.
‘Using an aerostat is a very cost-effective solution for security, as it resembles building a tower of 1,500ft. in only 20 minutes, and at a minimal cost of $10 per day. This tower is able to stay stable for days, focusing on a specific target and providing persistent security. No other security systems, manned or unmanned, are as cost-effective as aerostats.’
