AeroVironment raises loitering munition stakes
Famed for developing a collection of tactical UAS such as the RQ-11B Raven, RQ-12A Wasp and the RQ-20B Puma, AeroVironment has unveiled a family of loitering munition systems including the Switchblade 600 — a larger extended-range version of the long-serving Switchblade 300.
Designed as a man-portable system weighing 23kg, the new variant has been produced primarily to strike BLoS targets such as light tactical vehicles. It can be deployed in less than ten minutes from a launch tube, which is required for transportation.
The Switchblade 600 also has a 115mph dash speed, a flight time of more than 40
