European unmanned ambitions continue into 2018
The European MALE RPAS project enters 2018 on schedule and on budget as industrial partners begin the development phase, Shephard understands.
The three industry members, Airbus Defence and Space (DS), Dassault Aviation and Leonardo, are now in discussion with participating member states, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, to answer questions on the new configuration, an Airbus DS spokesperson told Shephard.
In July 2017 it was announced that the final design of the new RPAS was to be a twin-engine turbo-prop configuration, previously it was assumed the RPAS would be a twin jet engine aircraft.
