ASV, Planet Ocean team for marine science market
ASV and Planet Ocean have announced plans to work together to provide turnkey solutions for the marine sector based on ASV’s C-Enduro autonomous surface vessel (ASV).
The two companies have signed a Technology Partnering Agreement that will see them collaborate on providing standard and customised payloads for marine science missions. The work will initially focus on the C-Enduro platform, but could extend to other systems in the ASV portfolio.
Planet Ocean's sensors, telemetry and asset tracking technology will maximise the capabilities of the C-Enduro vehicle, with the user able to select the appropriate payload configuration and installation for each specified mission.
C-Enduro uses energy harvesting technology combined with an efficient self-righting hull to deliver advanced payload capacity and power for unmanned marine monitoring and data-collection missions.
The agreement will also see Planet Ocean become re-sellers of fully equipped vehicles to their existing and future customer base as well as offering OEM vehicles to their worldwide partners of sensor manufacturers to offer turnkey solutions in their own territories.
