US Air Force in SUAS survey mission hunt
The US Air Force is challenging industry to submit a proposal for a fixed-wing small UAS (SUAS) of less than 1.3kg (3lb), according to an RfI released by the service.
The Air force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) has a requirement to assess SUAS aerial land survey mission capability, compatibility and maturity.
Released on 25 January the notice stipulates a fixed wing solution which can carry out autonomous flight including landing. The SUAS is to have a wingspan of 1.15m or less and must be hand launched.
The RfI also details an aircraft cruising speed of 25-70mph with a minimum flight
