The Malaysian government issued three local tenders on 19 November for the supply of firearms and accessories for the Malaysian Army’s Grup Gerakhas (Special Service Group).
The first tender calls for the supply of 539 9mm semiautomatic pistols for close-quarters battle (CQB) and covert operations. Each pistol must have an M1913 accessory rail. The pistol is required to have a magazine capacity of no less than 15 rounds, an overall length of not more than 210mm and effective range of at least 50m.
