Russian special forces have displayed some of their latest all terrain tactical ground vehicles as part of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation’s (CSTO) Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF) Interaction 2017 exercise.
Conducted between the 9 and 13 October, the event included the involvement of Spetsnaz reconnaissance units tasked with countering an illegal armed formation (IAF) in Armenia’s Alagyaz mountain range.
The exercise saw Mi-8MT rotary wing assets forward deploying special operations teams, with the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) confirming that they had been tasked with interdicting and destroying enemy ‘sabotage reconnaissance groups’.
