Central European special ops command under way

Special operations forces from across Central Europe could soon be operating under a Regional Special Operations Component Command (R-SOCC), according to a NATO announcement published on 13 February.

A letter of intent (LoI) regarding the establishment of the R-SOCC was signed by the respective defence ministers of Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia at the NATO Defence Ministers meeting in Brussels. A NATO spokesperson also confirmed Austria would be signing the LoI at a later date.
