Carriers, submarines and frigates all part of Russia’s future navy plan
The Russian government has been increasingly voluble on its plans for an expansion of its navy in the coming years, with a series of recent statements made by high-ranking officials in the MoD and General Staff adding further weight to its stated aims.
As part of these plans particular attention will be given to the development and construction of a new aircraft carrier, which is estimated to cost around RUB 400 billion ($6.25 billion).
