Romania pursues corvette investment
The Romanian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has received offers from three European companies for four new multi-role corvettes and the upgrade of two Type 22 frigates operated by the Romanian Navy.
Damen, Fincantieri and Naval Group will now battle it out for the project which is valued at €1.6 billion ($1.86 billion).
Offers were submitted on 2 October and according to the Romanian MoD the evaluation and ranking of the candidates it set to be completed by the end of the month.
