China is the Asia-Pacific country with the most potent submarine fleet. The US credits the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) with currently having six SSBNs (Type 094/094A Jin class), six SSNs (two Type 093/Shang I class and four Type 093A/Shang II) and 50 diesel-electric submarines.
