What's next for the Pentagon after the Replicator programme?
Although the Replicator initiative has made several accomplishments, there are still multiple gaps to plug across the US Department of Defense (DoD) and its services.
Simlat will deliver a Full Crew UAS Simulator (C-STAR) to Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) under a purchase order announced on 16 May.
The company will deliver a simulator package including hardware, software and add-on civil UAS application packages such as agriculture, offshore, and utilities inspection. Delivery is expected by the end of the second quarter of 2016.
The simulator will be used to support the college’s agriculture aviation training programmes. LDCC works with Flying Tiger Aviation to offer both fixed wing and rotary wing agriculture aviation training programmes leading to an Ag pilot endorsement. The programme includes FAA certificates, ratings and endorsements.
Simlat’s president said: ‘We are very pleased and proud to support this special programme, and to have our simulators in the able hands of the Flying Tigers Aviation crew. Simulation of civil UAS applications has been a continuous growth factor for Simlat and we are glad that customers appreciate Simlat's high-value and comprehensive proposal in this regard.’
