Born in the Dominican Republic, Gabriel Dominguez grew up in Germany and studied communication and political sciences at the University of Münster, and later at the Deutsche Welle Academy in Bonn. 

He was first a news editor for German news agencies, before beginning to work two years later for Deutsche Welle as its Asia-Pacific editor.

In 2016, Gabriel moved to London, where he held the position of Asia-Pacific Editor for Jane’s Defence Weekly until late 2021
