AS350B3e recieves Russian certification
The Russian Interstate Aviation Committee has certified the Eurocopter AS350 B3e allowing the operation of the updated helicopter in Russia and CIS countries.
The committee announced the decision in mid-December and it allows the operation of the aircraft in the neighbouring states of Kazakhstan, Ukraine Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Laurence Rigolini, general director of Eurocopter Vostok said: 'The AS350 has proven himself and is of high demand in Russia and CIS.
'On receipt of the certificate we will be happy to begin shipping the updated version, the AS350 B3e.
'Our customers will appreciate the more sophisticated technical and operational characteristics of this helicopter,' added Rigolini.
Today, around 30 AS350s are operated by operators including UTair, Yamal, Nord-Aviation and Abakan-Avia.
The largest customer of the type in the region is UTair who ordered 20 examples including both the AS350B3e and the twin-engined AS355NP. Deliveries under this contract began in 2011 and are set to continue until 2013.
