Modern Day Marine 2012: Roboteam unveils micro UGV
Israeli company Roboteam is working with the US Army to further develop its Micro Tactical Ground Robot (MTGR), according to company representatives.
At the Modern Day Marine exhibition in Quantico, Roboteam displayed the MTGR, which a company spokesman claimed is the lightest UGV with the ability to climb stairs.
Roboteam programme manager and design leader Mor Rotbart said the MTGR was developed for counter-IED or EOD applications while equipped with a ‘tactical manipulator’.
‘It was very important for us to have it as light as possible, as intuitive as possible and as rugged as possible,’ Rotbart said.
