Airbus Helicopters has delivered three H215 helicopters to the German Federal Police.

The twin-engine multi-role Super Pumas will enter operation at the beginning of 2020 supporting  Germany's Central Command for Maritime Emergencies (CCME). The CCME oversees maritime missions off Germany’s coast.

The helicopters feature Makila 1A1 engines, a glass cockpit avionics system and the four-axis autopilot from Airbus Helicopters’ H225, which provides flight envelope protection, precision and automatic hover stability in harsh operating conditions.

The German Federal Police will deploy the helicopters for a wide range of missions including border protection, railway network control, maritime protection and disaster response, VIP transport and emergency medical services.

A fourth H215 will be delivered in June 2019.
