Second five-bladed H145 carries out maiden sortie
The second prototype of the five-bladed H145 helicopter carried out its maiden flight in August from Airbus Helicopters’ site in Donauwörth, Germany.
The aircraft will now be used to help achieve EASA certification for the variant, which is expected to be granted in early 2020.
A first prototype is currently being used for high altitude testing in South America, while this new addition to the test campaign will mainly be used for autopilot testing, performance and airframe structure validation.
The new variant was unveiled at the Heli-Expo exhibition in Atlanta in March, and provides 150kg of extra payload while also offering more comfort, simplicity and connectivity, according to the company.
