Russian Helicopters will produce a prototype of the VRT500 light utility helicopter designed by VR-Technologies design bureau by the end of 2019.

Strength testing of the VRT500’s rotor system is currently ongoing, and aerodynamic testing is set to be carried out by VR-Technologies shortly.

The VTR500 will be produced in a number of variants, including passenger, utility, cargo, training, VIP and medevac.

With a maximum take-off weight up to 1600kg, the VRT500 is a single-engine helicopter with coaxial rotor. It will have space for up to five people onboard and rear cabin door access for passenger loading and unloading in medevac configuration. The aircraft will have a glass cockpit avionics suite and will be capable of accelerating up to 230km/h with a range of up to 1000km and payload of up to 750kg.
