Leonardo and its partners made a number of announcements at the Paris Air Show, racking up sales of its civil helicopters with several customers.

Rotortrade Services announced the purchase and sale of six pre-owned helicopters. This builds upon the companies' global distributorship agreement, under which Rotortrade is a worldwide pre-owned helicopter distributor for Leonardo. Since the signing of the agreement in 2014, over 27 pre-owned Leonardo aircraft have been sold.

Leonardo also announced that it had appointed SPECTO Aerospace of the Netherlands as a Blade Repair Centre for main and tail rotor blades for the AW109 and AW139 platforms in Europe and Russia.

This appointment follows the 2018 Memorandum of Understanding, (MoU) signed in Amsterdam allowing SPECTO Aerospace to become part of a network of four other Blade Repair Centres based in the UAE, UK, USA, and Singapore.

Leonardo also announced that it has recently signed a contract for two AW169 light intermediate helicopters with helicopter service provider, NHV Group. The aircraft are expected to be delivered between 2019 and 2020, and will be used to perform offshore transport operations in the UK and North Sea area.

Akagera Aviation was also at the show, celebrating a decade of operations with the company in Rwanda. Based at Kigali International Airport, Akegara Aviation was established in 2014 and provides range of services including VIP and charter transport, aerial photography and medical evacuation across the nation.

Currently, the company operates a fleet compromised of an AW109, an AW139 and two AW119Kx helicopters. However, the company expects a further expansion of its fleet with additional AW119Kx helicopters to meet the growing demand for services.
