Leonardo has appointed Aerocardal as an authorised service centre for its helicopters in Chile, the company announced on 5 April.

Under the agreement, Aerocardal will provide comprehensive support and maintenance services to Chilean operators and owners of AW109 light twin-engine and AW119 single-engine helicopters.

The company will provide the services from its base at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez international airport.

Aerocardal operates two Leonardo AW109 Grand helicopters for emergency medical services in Chile and has been delivering maintenance services for the AW109 Power, Grand and GrandNew types in the country for eight years. The company is now extending its range of services to new models including the AW109 Trekker, which has recently entered the Chilean market.
