Lease Corporation International (LCI) has received its first H175 helicopter and placed it on lease with CHC, the company announced on 18 December.

The helicopter will operate out of CHC’s base in Aberdeen, Scotland, to support oil and gas activities in the North Sea.

The Airbus Helicopters H175 is a new generation 7.8 tonne, 16 passenger aircraft in the super-medium category.  The helicopter’s primary mission is to support offshore oil and gas activities and search and rescue missions. Configured with Pratt and Whitney PT-6 engines and a Helionix avionics suite with four-axis autopilot, the H175 is fully certified to the latest FAR/JAR 29 standards.

Ben Bridge, EVP, global sales at Airbus Helicopters, said: ‘The handover of LCI’s first H175, and the start of operations with CHC, confirms the aptitude of this aircraft for the oil and gas market. From day one, passengers will benefit from the smooth and comfortable ride, while LCI and CHC will appreciate the efficiencies of the H175.’
