Ka-226T to undergo testing in Iran
Russian Helicopters and Iran Helicopter Support and Renewal Company (IHSRC) are to test the Ka-226T light utility helicopter in Iran for its ability to operate in extremely high temperatures, the company announced on 9 August.
The tests will be held on the Iranian company site within the framework of a memorandum signed by the parties in May at Heli-Russia 2017.
The tests will continue until the end of August, and aim to prove the usability of the Ka-226T at ambient temperatures of up to +50°C.
The Ka-226T light multirole helicopter with coaxial twin-rotor system has a maximum take-off weight of 3.6 tonnes and is capable of carrying up to one tonne of payload. The Ka-226T features a unique modular design with a transport cabin that can carry up to six people or modules outfitted with special equipment.
