HNZ Group will continue to support the Province of Nova Scotia's Emergency Health Services' (EHS) LifeFlight air ambulance service under a contract extension announced on 26 January.

The support will continue under an amended agreement, with HNZ to supply two Sikorsky S-76C+ helicopters, an upgrade from one currently employed Sikorsky S-76A model. Both aircraft will be configured with a medical interior for critical patient transport, and will be based out of Halifax.

The amended agreement will run through March 2032. HNZ will operate under its Canadian Helicopters brand.

Don Wall, president and CEO of HNZ Group, said: ‘We are very pleased with the ongoing confidence that EHS has placed in the safety and quality of our services and operations.

‘This amendment represents a renewed relationship with the Province of Nova Scotia that we have had since 1996. We look forward to continuing to support the people of Nova Scotia.’
