MD Helicopters (MDHI) has delivered an FAA-certified upgraded MD 530F to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) in Cincinnati, Ohio, the company announced on 12 October.

The aircraft, which was previously operated as an MD 500E by HCSO, recently completed MDHI’s E-to-F conversion programme to emerge as a newly certified F-model helicopter with a zero-time engine. The recertification took place at the company’s manufacturing facility and completions centre in Mesa, Arizona.

MDHI said the upgraded MD 530F aircraft has now returned to service with HCSO.

MD Helicopters’ E-to-F conversion programme delivers increased hot and high capability as well as improved operational range and flight time.

The enhancements made to the HCSO aircraft include an engine upgrade from the Rolls Royce M250-C20B to the M250-C30, replacement of the blades and stabilisers, installation of the Garmin G500H dual-screen electronic flight display and the integration of a Fargo auxiliary fuel tank.
