DART Helicopter Services to Distribute Red Barn Machine Products
DART Helicopter Services (DHS) has been named the exclusive worldwide distributor for Red Barn Machine’s commercial product line, DHS President & CEO Jeff Shapiro announced today.
Based in Eugene, Ore., Red Barn Machine manufactures and distributes hundreds of standard and custom tools for maintenance and overhaul of Bell, MD, and Schweizer helicopters, and for Rolls-Royce 250 series engines. Under the terms of the agreement, DHS will not distribute Schweizer products.
“Red Barn is a respected brand with unique tools operators won’t find anywhere else,” said Shapiro. “This represents a new product line for DART, and we are pleased to offer these excellent products to our customers.”
DHS was founded in 2004 as a worldwide manufacturing, engineering and marketing force that also allows small suppliers — such as Red Barn Machine — to distribute their products through a collective resource. DHS markets and distributes products and accessories of its own design and from some 15 other manufacturers.
“DART’s resources and infrastructure will expand our reach,” said David Weil, president of Red Barn. “Jeff and his team share our focus on quality and innovation. It’s a good fit.”
DHS offers thousands of parts and accessories for AgustaWestland, Bell, Eurocopter, MD, Robinson, Sikorsky, Schweizer and Hiller helicopters. Revenues in 2007 grew more than 250 percent from 2006. The company has 14 locations worldwide.
With an exclusive focus on designing, marketing and selling helicopter accessories, DHS has adopted a unique and successful approach to its business by focusing on designing solutions. Specifically, DHS products are better engineered, with more innovative features and higher quality than competitive offerings. Additionally, DHS is the sole source for certain products, such as floats with integrated life rafts, for example.
