Coptersafety has commenced the installation of an H125 Level D full-flight simulator (FFS) and expects it to be ready for training in May, the company announced on 11 February.

The installation work, which is being carried out in cooperation with TRU Simulation + Training, will be followed by a comprehensive software integration and testing phase. The evaluation and approval of the EASA compliance authorities will take place after the assembly of the helicopter simulator.

Mikko Kallio, head of training and development at Coptersafety, said: ‘With a new H125, FFS Level D, Coptersafety can offer training scenarios and operational training for onshore single-engine helicopter operations in the same way that has already been seen in multi-engine helicopter operations.

‘When the training is not limited to a set of emergencies the training will be more efficient and realistic. Using flight simulators in training also reduces risks associated with high-risk training scenarios, eg flight training for a loss of hydraulic power.’

TRU Simulation + Training is the provider of all Coptersafety’s new simulators.
