Airbus Helicopters has delivered the first of 100 H135s to China under an agreement signed in 2016, the company announced on 28 September. The aircraft was delivered to the Health Commission of Qingdao in China’s Shandong Province.

The 2016 framework agreement was signed with a Chinese consortium made up of China Aviation Supplies Holding Company, Qingdao United General Aviation Industrial Development Company and CITIC Offshore Helicopter.

The H135 was delivered in HEMS configuration, fully equipped with a medical interior. It will be used to perform EMS missions in Qingdao and the surrounding area.

The first five H135s of the 100 on order, including the one delivered, are being assembled in Donauwörth, Germany. The remaining 95 will be assembled in Qingdao on the H135 final assembly line (FAL) which broke ground in 2017. The construction of the FAL will be completed by the end of 2018 and will enter into operation in early 2019.
