Bell Helicopter has signed a purchase agreement with Nigeria’s Caverton Helicopters for eight new Bell 407GXPs, the company announced on 22 August.

Delivery of the aircraft is scheduled to begin later in 2017.

Together with Caverton’s fleet of Bell 412EPs, the new Bell 407GXP helicopters will be used for offshore logistics support, maritime and coastal surveillance, emergency medical services and search and rescue operations.

Caverton Helicopters operates out of a flight facility at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos and several purpose-built facilities in Victoria Island, Port Harcourt, Warri and Cameroon.

Caverton has signed the eight 407GXPs up for Bell Helicopter’s Customer Advantage Plan support programme.
