Bel Air's two AW189 helicopters surpassed 6,000 flight hours in January, the company announced on 15 February.

The helicopters support long range offshore oil and gas transport missions in the North Sea and offshore wind turbine support.

Based in Denmark, Bel Air has recently installed the Limited Icing Protection System (LIPS) onto its two AW189s. LIPS permits flight within a known and defined envelope of icing conditions provided that the capability to descend into a known band of positive temperature is available throughout the intended route, allowing operations in severe weather conditions.

Bel Air has also opted for the 8.6 tonne maximum gross weight upgrade to give its customers maximum pay loading capacity.
