Eagle Australasia is providing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) support to Australian operators of fire suppression helicopters, the company announced on 27 November.

Earlier this year the company undertook an MRO check on a UH-1H helicopter before it returned to standby for the approaching firefighting season.

A Bell 212 received from Victorian-based operator Jayrow has also undergone a major inspection. The aircraft is fitted for fire suppression with a Simplex Fire Attack System, consisting of a 1,420L belly mounted tank together with a Kawak Aviation hydraulic hover refill pump capable of filling the tank in nearly 30 seconds.

Jayrow will deploy the Bell 212 to contribute to the firefighting effort along the eastern seaboard.
