Metro Aviation will supply Airmedic with three Airbus EC145e helicopters for emergency medical services (EMS), the company announced on 22 October.

Airmedic is a privately-owned air medical provider based in Quebec. The new aircraft, completed at Metro’s facility in Shreveport, Louisiana, will be equipped with Metro’s EMS interior as well as Genesys Aerosystem’s HeliSAS three-axis autopilot stability augmentation system and Genesys EFIS system for single/dual pilot instrument flight rules operation.

Metro Aviation will also carry out the required training for Airmedic’s instructors and pilots, utilising the EC145 Level D full motion simulator at the Helicopter Flight Training Center.

The first two aircraft will be delivered in the first quarter of 2019, while the final helicopter will be delivered in the third quarter of 2019.
