Airbus Helicopters has delivered two H175 helicopters to Babcock International at a ceremony held in Darwin, Australia, the company announced on 18 December.

The two aircraft will be based in Dili, Timor Leste, where they will be deployed to transport personnel and provide search and rescue and medevac support in the Timor Sea, approximately 500kms northwest of Darwin.

The Airbus team has provided training for Babcock pilots and engineers. Babcock will employ 19 Timorese personnel to support the aircraft at the base, including four local engineers who will attend training at Airbus Helicopters’ headquarters in France in early 2018.
