Ultra receives LWT contract modification
Ultra Electronics Ocean Systems has been awarded a $45.32 million contract modification by US Naval Sea Systems Command, for the production of MK 54 MOD 0 lightweight torpedo (LWT) nose assembly array kits.
The award includes purchases for the USN as well as FMS customers Canada, Denmark, South Korea and Spain.
Ultra will carry out the work at its facilities in Braintree, Massachusetts (70%) and Lititz, Pennsylvania (30%), for completion by March 2023.
The MK 54 can be deployed from a surface ship, helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft to track, classify and attack underwater targets.
