SOF reaches underwater mobility milestones
US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and Naval Special Warfare Command (NAVSPECWARCOM) are in the process of achieving several milestones for both ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ submersible elements of the Underseas Mobility portfolio.
Recent and pending programme activities were outlined by command representatives at this week’s virtual Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (vSOFIC).
The Mk11 SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV) is a one-for-one replacement for the current Mk8 Mod1 SDVs. It will serve as the next generation of free-flooding ‘wet’ combat manned submersible to transport special operations personnel and equipment for a variety of missions.
