Babcock announces Type 31 supply chain awards
Babcock International’s Team 31 has awarded several new supply chain contract awards which will support the RN’s Type 31 general purpose frigate programme. The confirmation was made on 17 April on Babcock’s LinkedIn page.
The company will receive main engines and diesel generators (manufactured in Germany) from Rolls-Royce, whilst Renk will supply reduction gearboxes and MAN Energy Solutions are providing propellers and propeller shaft lines.
Blunox will supply emissions reduction equipment and Darchem Engineering will produce intake and exhaust systems for the Main Engines and Diesel Generators.
Novenco’s Chilled Water Plant will enhance the critical capacity of the Type 31’s HVAC system.
