Argentina improves inventory of the national army
The Argentinian MoD has announced the delivery of new and modernised military equipment to the ground forces. It comprises small guns, vehicles and military equipment.
The Argentinian MoD is increasing the mobility and lethality of its ground troops and has announced the delivery of new and modernised military equipment to the national army. The handover ceremony took place on 3 December in the Arsenals Directorate (Boulogne).
In total, the MoD has invested more than ARS$ 2 billion (USD 26 million) in the procurement of equipment and modernisation of platforms.
Although the MoD could not provide details regarding the number of platforms and systems acquired, according to a press release of the Argentine Army, the service has received new wheeled platforms, ambulances, trucks and trailers.
In terms of equipment for dismounted soldiers, the new material comprises semi-automatic pistols, semi-automatic and automatic rifles, submachine gun, shotguns, NVG and optronic devices, UAVs, radios and uniforms.
The modernised systems include heavy weapons, wheeled and tracked platforms and Huey II and AB 206 helicopters.
