Singapore outlines new helicopter and MRAP plans
The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) plans to replace its Airbus Helicopters AS332/532 aircraft and Textron Marine & Land Systems V-200 4x4 armoured vehicles, it has emerged.
Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen disclosed the details during a parliamentary Committee of Supply debate on 5 March
Singapore has received some 450 V-200 vehicles since 1970, although only an estimated 50 remain in active service. Many serve in ground-based air defence units and are configured to carry RBS 70 surface-to-air missiles. The V-200 fleet will be replaced by what Singapore is calling a Protected Response Vehicle (PRV).
