Summer of acquisition for Czech Army
Initial Toyota Hilux truck deliveries are imminent
The Czech Army is set to replace ageing equipment with modern platforms, with delivery of new trucks and contract awards for artillery and air defence expected this summer.
Following the beginning of trials for contender IFV platforms this week, the Czech Army is set to introduce new trucks and sign contracts for air defence and artillery systems in the coming months.
Glomex Military Supplies is expected to deliver 400 new Toyota Hilux trucks from July to October. The company was awarded a contract in November 2020 to supply the vehicles. A spokesperson from the Czech MoD told Shephard that the framework agreement is for CZK2 billion for a total of up to 1,200 vehicles if requested.
The Toyota trucks will replace the existing inventories of Czech Army UAZ-469
