The US Coast Guard (USCG) has delivered another HC-130J aircraft to L3 Technologies for Minotaur missionisation, the USCG announced on 5 March.

The HC-130J Super Hercules aircraft, CGNR 2006, will be integrated with the Minotaur Mission System Suite (MSS+). The government-furnished MSS+, developed jointly by the USCG and the US Navy, is designed to enhance the aircraft’s long-range surveillance capabilities.

The aircraft will be fitted with radar, sensors and C4ISR equipment that allows aircrew to collect and process information for transmission to surface and shore operators.

The retrofit is scheduled to be completed in late 2018.
