Thyssenkrupp presents German design for Polish submarine requirement
As the Polish Navy is on the verge of choosing its strategic partner in the Orka programme, Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) wants to persuade authorities in Warsaw to procure a series of German designed submarines.
The TKMS offering includes the procurement of a series of the type 212CD (Common Design) submarines, which are a derivative the 212A class.
Other companies being considered as potential submarine suppliers for the Orka programme are Naval Group and Saab Kockums.
In accordance with the Polish Navy's technical requirements new submarines will have to be equipped with an air independent propulsion (AIP) system
