The US State Department has made a determination approving a potential foreign military sale of RGM-84L Harpoon Block II surface launched missiles to Thailand, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on 10 August.

The estimated cost of the package is $24.9 million.

Thailand has requested five RGM-84L Harpoon Block II surface launched missiles and one RTM-84L Harpoon Block II exercise missile.

The package request also includes containers, spare and repair parts, support and test equipment, publications and technical documentation, personnel training, training equipment, engineering and logistics support services.

The hardware will be employed on Thailand's DW3000 class frigates, enhancing their ability to defend its critical sea lines.

If the deal goes ahead, Boeing will be the prime contractor.
